Biostar TA690G AM2 Review @ PCStats
PCStats reviews the Biostar TA690G AM2 motherboard supporting all Socket AM2 processors and up to four DDR2 memory modules. Here is an excerpt of what PCStats writes in the conclusion:
Biostar’s TA690G AM2 is a breeze to work with and you’ll have this little motherboard setup and ready to go in no time. It’s nice that AMD’s 690G Northbridge and SB600 Southbridge generate very little heat so cooling the motherboard is not an issue. In the benchmarks PCSTATS saw that the Biostar TA690G AM2 performed well for its class with both integrated video and a stand alone Geforce 7800GTX. It’s clear that the onboard Radeon Xpress 1250 videocard is faster than nVIDIA’s GeForce 6150, though both are quite weak compared to stand along graphics solutions. Still, in ever 3D test we ran the AMD onboard videocard was faster.
AMD has put together a very competitive integrated chipset with its 690G and SB600 chipsets. Those looking for a no fuss multimedia system have a real alternative, every other integrated chipset out there requires a few extras here and there. The Biostar TA690G AM2 is a strong motherboard with a lot to offer. If you want to build a home entertainment machine or just want a low cost workstation computer, the TA690G AM2 should definitely be on your radar.
